Construction Starts

Construction starts in London

Construction has started at the site of the monument in London (February 2005).

The first stages are:

  • To erect a ramp to enable pedestrians to get past the construction site.
  • To erect a hoarding around the site to protect members of the public from the building work.

It is planned to paint the hoarding in camouflage colours. Look out for the site if you are passing the Thames embankment near Westminster in London.

See here for more details on the construction site

More details on the construction stages and process will be available soon.

It is not expected that there will be much to see for a couple of months but we will bring you “behind the scenes” pictures as construction progresses.
