Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service 2026

The Royal Air Force announces that the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication will be held in Westminster Abbey at 11.00 am on Sunday 20th September 2026.

Applications for tickets, stating all names, addresses, telephone number/email address, place and date of birth, passport or driving licence number of individuals wishing to attend, should be made in writing and are to be accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope. Applications should reach Mr Chris Rothwell SO3 RAF Ceremonial Support, RAF Ceremonial Office, RAF Northolt, West End Road, Middlesex, HA4 6NG by the 10th July 2026.

To assist with seating in the Abbey, applicants are requested to state which of the following categories is appropriate: former Battle of Britain era Royal Air Force personnel or Emergency Services and role; past or present members of the Royal Air Force and its Reserve Forces; or member of the general public. In addition, we are particularly interested to hear from relatives of Battle of Britain era Royal Air Force personnel.

Tickets, and a note on dress and timings for the occasion, will be issued 2 weeks before the Service.

Applications should not be made to Westminster Abbey.
