Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service 2022
The 2022 Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service will be held in Westminster Abbey on Sunday 18th September at 11am.
The Royal Air Force commemorates the Battle of Britain each year at a service in Westminster Abbey. We would very much like to hear from the widows, family descendants and any other family members of those who participated in the Battle. We are seeking to improve our knowledge of this unique demographic and to offer places at the formal Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service, this year on Sunday 18th September 2022, and in subsequent years.
If you are a family member, or know someone who is, please write to Mrs Michèle Small (Royal Air Force Ceremonial Office, Bentley Priory Building, Royal Air Force Northolt, RUISLIP, Middlesex, HA4 6NG), providing details of your relationship to your relative who served in the Royal Air Force between July and October 1940 and your email address and a contact phone number.
Additionally, for the purpose of allocating tickets, please also send your full name, home address, date and place of birth, and passport or driving licence number. This information is also required for any additional guests who wish to attend the Service with you.
All other applications for tickets, stating all names, addresses, telephone number/email address, place and date of birth, Passport or Driving Licence number of individuals wishing to attend, should be made in writing and are to be accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope. Applications should reach Mrs Michèle Small SO3 RAF Ceremonial Events, RAF Ceremonial Office, Bentley Priory Building, RAF Northolt, West End Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 6NG by the 20th July 2022.
To assist with seating in the Abbey, applicants are requested to state which of the following categories is appropriate: relatives of aircrew or groundcrew who served in the Battle of Britain; past or present members of the Royal Air Force and its Reserve Forces; members of the Emergency Services or ground support staff during the Battle; or member of the general public.
